Add keywords in bulk

Adding keywords one at a time gets old fast. SEMOptimiser supports three bulk methods: paste, CSV upload, and Search Console import. Pick whichever matches the data you already have.

Method 1: paste a list

1. Go to Rank Tracking → Add keywords.
2. Click "Paste list".
3. Paste keywords one per line. You can include an optional location, device and engine after a comma.
4. Click Preview. We show you what we parsed.
5. Click Add – done.

Lines without a location default to your site's primary location. Lines without a device default to mobile (Google's primary index). Engine defaults to google.

Method 2: CSV upload

Best when you have your keywords already in a spreadsheet. The CSV needs a header row with keyword, plus optional columns: location, device, engine, group.

Drag the file into the upload zone or click to browse. Limit is 5,000 rows per upload – split larger files into batches.

Method 3: import from Search Console

If you've connected Google Search Console (see Analytics & Console), we can pull your top-performing queries directly. Click Import from GSC, pick a date range and an impression threshold, and we preview which queries to add.

Locations

We support country-level for every country Google indexes, plus city- and suburb-level for English-speaking markets (AU, US, UK, CA, NZ). For other markets, use the country code or the nearest major city. Adding a location triggers a separate SERP fetch – a keyword tracked in Sydney AU and London UK counts as two keyword slots.

Groups

Groups are tags that help you filter and report. Common patterns: brand vs non-brand, product line, funnel stage. You can add or change groups later in bulk from the keyword list.

Keyword limits per plan

After import

New keywords get their first rank check within an hour. The rest of the schedule is daily for paid plans, weekly for Free. You can trigger an on-demand check from any keyword's row in the list.
